M&E Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking an experienced and commercially aware M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction company delivering high-quality projects across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of mechanical and electrical packages on a range of commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.
Working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients, you will ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial delivery of M&E packages from pre-construction through to final account
- Preparing cost plans, valuations, forecasts, and financial reports
- Reviewing subcontractor quotations and negotiating contracts
- Monitoring project budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Managing variations, change control, and contractual notices
- Conducting site visits and attending client/project meetings
- Preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts
- Supporting procurement strategies and supply chain management
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within the construction or building services sector
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and associated contracts
- Experience working on commercial, residential, healthcare, or industrial projects
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial management software
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management preferred
